Worms...

The other day, one of my students (the famous Rafael), had a worm in his pocket.(The other students had loudly informed me.)

I asked,
Rafael, do you have a worm in your pocket?

Nooo!

Rafael???

No, I don't got quirms.

Rafael... take the worm out....

He finally took it out, and this led to a discussion of what worms need to live (#1 being a SAFE place to live) (The worm was mostly dead by then, and we couldn't resurrect it...)

The next day the class reported:

"Rafael was digging lots of worms!"

Rafael???"

NO, I no got quirms!

Did you touch the worms?
(The worms are all yelling, "Yes!")
Nooo (meaning yes--just like they said...)

For the next 3 days it was reported that he dug up worms at recess (he does come in with muddy hands each day from recess). The worms should be on the lookout for Rafael by this time...

Yesterday the recess duty person came in and said that Rafael was hugging a huge handfull of worms to his chest!

What do these worms do?? Just wait for Rafael to come and get them??

Aren't they afraid??

You'd think they'd try some disguises by now, or something!

THAT is a hilarious story.

OH MY GOODNESS about Mom and dad!!!!!

Holy cow!

Thank goodness you were able to go and help them.

I have GOT to be sure that Mom has my cell phone number. I could have taken her to the hospital. (Lee often rides his bike and takes the bus/train to work).

Back to the worms.

Dang funny.

Hey! I am signed in on BECCA'S name so I am accidentally looking like her.

Do I have red hair?

I need a mirror.

This is Wendy.

She just had me go to her blog to see her new story, so I am still on her name.

OK.

It says nonsense instead of a heart in front of her name ... in case you were wondering what it is SUPPOSED to read as .... she says she typed a caret, but it put those symbols instead.

Will talk about court tomorrow on my blog.

This post calls desperately needed attention to the plight and pillage of world wide worms. Hats off to Mrs. Altier, redeemer of the worms!
