I love the Orange County Performing Arts Center! It's so beautiful! And the shows are phenomenal!
I tried taking a few photos by the mirrored stairwell (yes, I love the stairwell) and one by the poster outside also.
But back to the show:
(Let me warn you--I can't get the spacing to go right for anything!)
Topol, who starred in and was Oscar-nominated for
Norman Jewison’s 1971 movie adaptation of Fiddler, brought the house down at the Orange County Performing Arts Theatre with the opening number, “Tradition.” After 38-plus years as Tevye, it is nothing less than remarkable that Topol, who turns 74 Sept. 9, gives such a strenuous physical performance -- moving, dancing and, of course, singing with that deep, resonant voice of his, for almost three full hours. It is truly phenomenal and quite inspiring.
Notes:
►All 3000 seats were sold out! (Unexpected, I would think, in today's economy!)
►We were in the balcony today (I love my binoculars), and every time Topol/Tevye had a chat with God, he looked right at us. (Yes, us, up there on K row, stage right.)
►It felt like we were in the belly of a cavernous whale, the way the ceiling architecture has “ribs” going down, down, down to the stage (we were high up this time) --the way it's darkly lit right before the curtain goes up.
►Stairs… too many stairs for my poor knee (it was a trial to make it to door 25, using a cane and the hand-rail…) (The elevator takes you only so far.)

That looks beautiful! The play is an awesome one to see live (vs. the movie). Wish I lived there and could attend! :)
VERY PRETTY!
That looks like it was AWESOME.
I can't believe he has been singing the same thing for all those years! That is AMAZING!
Those were really good photos you took, too!
